Account Director/Leadership Position for Account Services

Account Director is the primary client contact and is responsible for high-level client and team management. The ideal candidate for this newly created position has experience that merges technology and marketing with a proven track record of leading teams on top brands.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a small company environment; is a results-oriented strategic thinker and is a skillful relationship builder who excels in delivering outstanding client service.

Functioning as the agency’s principal representative (supporting the partners), the account director is responsible for achieving the client's objectives through responsive interactions and the delivery of innovative, market-moving insights about consumers and business trends.

We want you involved in all aspects of our client, new business and agency activities.  Your focus will be to serve as the lead on marketing strategy development (traditional and new media) for agency clients as well as support new business development.

Responsibilities/Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Strategic and creative thinker. Proven experience (and knowledge) developing strategies and ideas based on experience, research, insight and common sense.
  • Ability to inspire creative solutions in all aspects of marketing initiatives.
  • Understanding clients' business goals; developing strategic recommendations for digital marketing and technology solutions to achieve goals.
  • Strategic thinker and analytical problem solver who can break down business challenges and provide actionable solutions. Ability to analyze and solve client problems.
  • Lead all marketing initiatives and programs with clients. You are prepared to oversee account revenues, manage clients, present campaigns, develop strategic planning, help create media strategy, manage fees and budgets, and manage creative development and production across platforms, including tv, web, print and radio.
  • Great presenter for existing clients and new business.
  • Monitor implementation and execution of client campaigns as well as identification of appropriate resources.
  • Ensure consistency between client contractual agreements and the agency's deliverables.
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasting of future revenue.
  • Help with identifying potential projects and sources of revenue.
  • Work with business development staff to develop sales presentations and proposals.
  • Experience with new business acquisition; specifically response to RFP, RFI and RFQs.
  • Manage client expectations and communications, ensuring client approvals and sign-offs on all major deliverables.
  • Define and manage account team's expectations with regard to scope of work and responsibilities.
  • Develop and manage project/program schedules, scope and budgets (including project P&Ls).
  • Identify and resolve any mitigating project or program risks.
  • Negotiate and resolve high-level client issues.
  • Ensure high quality agency output.
  • Understanding and knowledge of B2B issues.

Requirements include:

  • At least 7 years of increasing responsibility with at least 2 years of equivalent level experience in a similar role in an marketing or interactive agency; Web development, IT, or consulting firm with technology and/or marketing-tech implementations (or equivalent, transferable client-side experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply integrated marketing solutions through strategy, marketing, advertising, online businesses, media and brand management
  • A successful track record in developing and delivering digital/interactive marketing and technology solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex, diverse clients
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, writing and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communications skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • High-level client-management skills and a professional presence
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and team-management skills
  • Negotiation skills (especially contract negotiations) with clients and partners
  • Experience with some of the following preferred: Healthcare, Software, Internet, Transportation, Higher Education
  • Bachelor's degree
